Product Overview

AGREX Quenching Oils are premium quality heat-treatment fluids engineered for rapid and controlled cooling of alloy steel components. Formulated with thermal-shock resistant base oils and speed-stabilizing additives, they provide a uniform heat-transfer rate. This minimizes internal stresses, prevents thermal cracking or warping, and guarantees consistent, high metallurgical hardness (martensitic structure) in fasteners, automotive gears, and tools. Our range covers cold quenching (fast speed), hot quenching (mar-tempering), and environment-safe polymer quenchants.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Uniform Metallurgical Hardness: Ensures consistent Rockwell / Brinell hardness from the core to the surface of the steel.
  • Minimal Distortion & Cracking: Controlled heat transfer during the vapor-blanket, boiling, and convection phases reduces steel warping.
  • High Flash Point Safety: High thermal threshold minimizes fume generation and fire hazards in open furnace baths.
  • Clean Workpieces: Low carbon residue ensures minimal carbon deposit on steel parts, simplifying post-quench washing.

Applications & Suitability

  • Quenching of carbon steel and alloy steel fasteners, bolts, screws, and hand tools.
  • Hardening of automotive transmission gears, bearings, leaf springs, and crankshafts.
  • Induction hardening and heat-treatment cycles in forging and foundry units.
  • Polymer quenchants for induction hardening and casting operations where oil is a fire risk.

Frequently Asked Questions

Technical and compliance queries answered by MniGlobal's engineering experts.

What is the difference between Hot and Cold Quenching Oils?
Cold Quenching Oil operates at bath temperatures of 30°C to 70°C and provides very rapid cooling for low-alloy steels. Hot Quenching Oil (operating at 100°C to 180°C) slows the cooling rate in the lower temperature zone, allowing uniform temperature distribution and preventing distortion in complex gears.
What are the benefits of Polymer Quenching Fluids?
AGREX Polymer Quenchants are water-soluble synthetic polymers. They offer adjustable cooling rates (by changing concentration in water), are completely non-flammable (zero fire hazard), and eliminate oil fumes in the workshop.
How do you maintain quenching oil quality in service?
To prevent sludge, the bath must be kept free of water contamination. MniGlobal provides water-content testing (Karl Fischer method) and viscosity analysis to ensure peak quenching speed is maintained.
