Product Overview

AGREX Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) is a high-purity aqueous urea solution containing 32.5% high-purity urea and 67.5% deionized water. Specially formulated for use in modern diesel engines equipped with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) exhaust after-treatment, AGREX DEF breaks down toxic nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions into harmless nitrogen gas and water vapor. Our manufacturing process ensures strict adherence to ISO 22241 standards, preventing mineral impurities that can poison precious metals in SCR catalysts and cause system failures.

Key Features & Benefits

  • SCR Catalyst Protection: High purity prevents mineral coating and poisoning of SCR catalyst active sites.
  • NOx Emission Reduction: Enables vehicles to comply with BS-VI and Euro 6 exhaust emission legislation.
  • Optimal Engine Performance: Allows the engine computer to run at peak fuel efficiency without soot restrictions.
  • Anti-Clogging formulation: Zero insoluble matter ensures the DEF dosing injector spray remains clear and unblocked.

Applications & Suitability

  • BS-VI compliant diesel passenger cars, SUVs (Tata, Mahindra, Hyundai, Toyota).
  • Modern heavy commercial trucks and long-haul buses equipped with SCR dosing systems.
  • Off-highway construction, mining equipment, and agricultural tractors requiring DEF.

Frequently Asked Questions

Technical and compliance queries answered by MniGlobal's engineering experts.

What is Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) and how does it work?
DEF is not a fuel additive. It is carried in a dedicated tank and injected into the exhaust stream before the SCR catalytic converter. The heat of the exhaust vaporizes the DEF into ammonia, which reacts with NOx over the catalyst, converting it into harmless nitrogen gas and water.
What happens if my diesel vehicle runs out of DEF?
By law, vehicles equipped with SCR systems will warn the driver when DEF is low. If the DEF tank is completely empty, the engine computer will enter a restricted 'limp home' mode or refuse to restart until the DEF tank is refilled. Always carry a spare bottle on long journeys.
How should AGREX DEF be stored?
DEF should be stored in a cool place out of direct sunlight, ideally between -5°C and 30°C. Storage in high heat (above 40°C) over long periods can cause the urea to degrade into ammonia, reducing shelf life. Keep in sealed HDPE containers.
